The CAPTure consortium attended the 2016 edition of the SolarPaces Conference on 11-14 October in Abu Dhabi, UAE.
The event had over 470 participants from 37 countries around the globe.
CAPTure partner EDF delivered an oral presentation covering the “Evolution of Solar Plants Valorization in Energy-only Electricity Markets with High Renewable Share”, in which case studies in Spain were presented.
Furthermore, IK4 Tekniker presented a poster on “Modeling and simulation of fixed bed regenerators”.
The CAPTure project intends to increase plant efficiencies and reduce levelised cost of electricity (LCOE) by developing all relevant components that allow implementing an innovative plant configuration. This plant configuration is based on a multi-tower decoupled advanced solar combined cycle approach that not only increases cycle efficiencies but also avoids frequent transients and inefficient partial loads, thus maximizing overall efficiency, reliability as well as dispatchability, all of which are important factors directly related to cost competitiveness on the power market.
